1. Introduction

Atamhatik (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a mobile app that simulates the Armenian Atamhatik tradition and lets you create a personalized certificate. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.

2. Information we collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit personal information to our servers.The app works primarily offline and does not require an account.

The app may handle the following information only on your device:

• Language preference — to show the app in your chosen language (stored locally on your device).
• Baby’s name (optional) — to display on the certificate you create (used only while the app is open; not sent to us).
• Photos (optional) — to add a photo to your certificate (accessed only when you choose a photo or take one with the camera).
• Generated certificate — to preview, save, or share (stored on your device when you save it; shared only if you choose to share it).

We do not collect email addresses, location data, analytics, advertising identifiers, or account details.

3. Device permissions

The app may request the following permissions only when needed for certificate features:

• Camera — to take a photo for the certificate.
• Photos / media library — to choose an existing photo or save the certificate to your gallery.

You can deny these permissions. Certificate features that need them will not work until permission is granted. You can change permissions anytime in your device settings.

The app does not access video files.

4. Sharing your information

• Save to gallery: If you tap “Save to gallery”, the certificate is saved locally on your device.
• Share: If you tap “Share”, the certificate is sent through your device’s built-in share menu (for example Messages, email, or social apps). We do not control how third-party apps handle shared content.
• Website link: If you choose “Visit website” in the About section, your browser opens atamhatik.am.

5. Children’s privacy

The app celebrates a tradition involving babies and children, but it is intended for use by parents, family members, or other adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Any name or photo entered in the app stays on your device and is not sent to us.

6. Data retention

Language preference remains on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data. Photos and saved certificates remain in your gallery or device storage under your control. We do not retain copies of your data on our servers.

7. Security

Because data stays on your device and is not transmitted to us, you are responsible for securing your device and any photos or certificates you save or share.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
